Opportunity Mapping & Connecting Workshop
Shaping a thriving local economy together
Why This Matters Now
The Southern Highlands has everything it needs to grow a thriving, resilient, and regenerative economy—one with meaningful jobs, strong local businesses, healthy landscapes, vibrant culture, and a sense of belonging for everyone.
From regenerative farming and local produce to creative industries, renewable energy, social enterprise, and innovative housing—the talent and ideas are here. But without a clear map of opportunities, procurement pathways, and shared infrastructure, too much value is leaking out of our region.
This workshop is our chance to connect the dots—aligning local efforts so we can keep wealth, skills, and care for nature right here in the Highlands.
About the Workshop
A hands-on session bringing together local enterprises, community leaders, and decision-makers to:
Spot untapped potential and understand the positive impact of local enterprise.
Map relationships between buyers, suppliers, and partners.
Identify shared infrastructure needs and growth pathways.
Forge connections that turn good ideas into game-changing projects.
By the end of the workshop, we will have:
A shared visual map of our region’s enterprises and opportunities.
A short list of infrastructure priorities to progress together.
A network of people committed to taking the next steps.
Who Should Attend
Local businesses, producers, and service providers.
Councils, government agencies, and industry bodies.
Community groups, social enterprises, and innovators.
Anyone with a vision for a stronger, nature-positive Highlands.
